Any Engine fundies that can maybe help me a bit I have recently helped my friend to install his 2.0 l 8v Engine in his mk1 Golf the Engine he bought had 2x 40 dellorto Sidies on and was complete engine starts nice but there in no Power he is under the consumption that the dustributor is Wrong for the engine. He had an 1600 Blues engine in before. I know that the 2L Engine had FI in and that the coils are diff. from the engines he is still running his old coil . There is no Vacuum advance on the carbs it's been blocked off. The Timming is Correct on the car, might it be that he will need the Mp9 system with coil to run this distrubutor from the 2L correct on his car I'm no Machanic . But know a little about a little LOL
Any Advice to how We can correct this problem would help

are you sure the cam timing is right? Spark is spark. Yes in high end top of the line racing it helps, but from what you describe when you say no power, it sounds like the car hardly moves?
